The first-ever Vital BMX Game of BIKE took place at the Vans Skatepark a couple weeks ago. Our goal was to put on an event with a fresh format and a relaxed vibe, while also raising money and awareness for ARF (Athlete Recovery Fund). By all accounts, it was a success. 32 top pros put on a great show, the live webcast drew almost 15,000 viewers, and $11,749 was donated to ARF. Drew Bezanson gave the day a perfect ending when he donated his $6,500 first-place prize money to ARF.
Of course, the event would not have been possible without its generous sponsors: Vans, Dan’s Comp, Haro, Pro Tec, Go Pro, and MovieTickets.com. We also had a handful of amazing volunteers who put in many hours to make the event happen. Thanks to all of you.
Aaron Cooke has done great things with ARF, so Vital is proud to be a supporter. Next year’s event should be bigger and better.
